However, many geologic studies also have a field area and the setting needs to be described.<br \/>\nResearch Fellow Recommendations for writing <a title=\"Research Fellow Peer Writing Advice\" href=\"http:\/\/watershed-research.wcu.edu\/?page_id=146\">are\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A good resource for writing (we think) is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/abacus.bates.edu\/~ganderso\/biology\/resources\/writing\/HTWsections.html#introduction\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>WCU also has an excellent Writing And Learning Commons (WALC). Their writing tips and links can be found\u00a0here.<br \/>\nThe\u00a0USGS Suggestions to Authors of Reports of the U.S. Geological Survey\u00a0has some good suggestions about writing, particularly their &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwrc.usgs.gov\/techrpt\/sta20.pdf\">Suggestions As to Expression<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0and\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nwrc.usgs.gov\/techrpt\/sta21.pdf\">Choosing the Right Word<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>The methods section tells what you have done.
